Location: Tyler, TX 75701 (East Texas healthcare jobs) Facility: Level 1 Trauma Center, Operating Room (14 OR suites) Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract Start Date: October 20, 2025 End Date: January 19, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shifts, 4x10-hour (06:30 - 17:00), rotating day off Hours per Week: 40 Call Requirement: 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2070 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience Previous travel nursing experience required Proficiency in Ortho, General, Neuro, Vascular, and Urology surgeries Trauma Level I experience required Epic charting system experience Pediatrics and adolescent experience preferred Robotic surgery experience (DaVinci, endovascular, ophthalmic) is a plus Must meet compliance requirements (not reside in specified local counties) Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver expert perioperative nursing care for diverse surgical specialties: ortho, general, neuro, vascular, and urology Assist with advanced procedures: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and robotic surgeries Demonstrate proficiency in aseptic technique and trauma care Participate in call rotation (minimal: 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes Document patient care using Epic charting system Support the surgical team in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environment Benefits
