Job Summary Summa Health - Akron City Campus.

Work (2) 12‑hour shifts Saturday & Sunday 7am‑7:30pm paid for 32 hours.

Hire On Incentive – $5,000.

Responsibilities A specialized cardiac sonographer who independently performs echocardiograms on a professional level including but not limited to Transesophageal (TTE) echo, Transthoracic (TTE) echo, stress echo, 3‑D, Doppler color Doppler and Strain imaging echocardiograms in inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP) and off‑site settings.

The results of these exams directly impact the course of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education Required:

Completion of a Sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology.

OR One (1) year of full‑time cardiac echocardiography experience.

OR completion of an approved Echo Trainee Program.

OR Summa Sonographer Intern requirements.

Experience and Training:

Registered in the field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, and RDCS).

Basic Life Support certification.

Completion of an approved Echo sonography program.

Other Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Ability to make knowledgeable independent clinical assessments and judgments.

Ability to quickly assess and resolve scanning, technical and patient care issues with limited supervision.

Ability to assume a collaborative relationship and communicate with physicians and allied health professionals.

Ability to communicate and interact with respect towards other personnel, physicians, patients, family members, customers and visitors, understanding their needs in a professional, caring and effective manner with self‑respect and dignity.

Provides high‑level professional quality echocardiogram examinations in this modality on a routine basis.

Ability to calibrate and operate equipment.

Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment.

Ability to independently prioritize work and effectively resolve problems.

Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Ability to work as a team member.

Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self‑respect and dignity.

Level of Physical Demands: Heavy.

Exerts 50‑100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25‑50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10‑20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.

Salary $34.74/hr – $41.69/hr.

The salary range on this posting is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.

Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location, are considered in determining the starting rate of pay.
