Job Summary The Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity (LSI) led by Dr. Gabe Kwong is in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory School of Medicine. We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to maintain animal colonies, viral production, and lab administration. Depending on the candidate, responsibilities may also include standard cellular assays (cell culture, DNA/RNA extraction), molecular assays (ELISA, PCR, bioconjugations), and animal work (tumor injections, necropsy, blood draws). The technician will work closely with other lab members and contribute to managing day‑to‑day operations in a dynamic research environment.
Responsibilities
Gather, compile, and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests and experiments.
Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
Operate various equipment used in research studies.
Participate in experiment design and preparation as directed.
Assist in the preparation of presentations and manuscripts.
Maintain laboratory equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements : Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience : One to two years of job‑related experience.
Skills : Knowledge of research lab equipment, data organization, statistical analysis, and use of scientific computer applications.
Additional Information
Salary range: $45,205.00 – $55,000.00
Job grade: R02
This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
This position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card).
This position will not travel and does not require security clearance.
Background check required. Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check.
