Opportunity Summary:
We are seeking remote 1099, Independent Contract Therapists to join our growing network supporting veterans, military members and their dependents. In this role the therapist will provide a full range of psychological services to include psychological assessment, diagnostic, and evidence-based treatment services.
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group interventions to support patients coping with health psychology presentations related to mental health diagnoses (e.g., sleep, pain, adherence to medical regimen, adjustment to illness), psychosocial stressors, grief or phase of life difficulties (e.g., discrimination, stress management, coping with loss, transition to civilian life), and mild to moderate mental health presentations.
Provide cognitive screening to address specific functional and/or cognitive ability questions.
Provide immediate access to clinical assessment and appropriate collaborative care and treatment for those experiencing mental health symptoms or behavioral health issues.
Provide psychosocial assessments to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of the patient and their families.
Possess working knowledge and experience with medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures, including acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses, common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology.
Follow suicide prevention guidelines and risk assessment documentation and training requirements.
Complete thorough psychosocial assessments in all required areas of functioning to determine appropriate diagnoses and other treatment-related conclusions.
Provide a DSM diagnosis to determine psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and/or their families.
Provide emergency/crisis interventions to stabilize patients, engage in rapid assessments, and develop crisis management plans.
Provide psychotherapy as individual, group, and/or family interventions when clinically indicated and beneficial.
Maintain knowledge of Veteransbenefits and services, community resources, and referral processes to community and other governmental programs or agencies.
Provide case management services to the patient and their families throughout the continuum of care.
Adhere to client regulations regarding documentation and completion of encounters.
Requirements:
Licensure: Must be licensed to practice independently in any state (Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)).
Psychologist: Must have PsyPact in addition to state license.
Education: Depending on license type, must have either a master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field from an accredited program or a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years\' experience practicing therapy independently.
Preferred experience: Experience providing therapy to veterans and military members.
Experience in consultation about mental health diagnosis and appropriate treatment plans to professionals from multiple disciplines, especially with psychiatrically and medically complex patients.
Familiarity with the full range of DSM-5 clinical presentations and evidence-based brief psychological interventions for mild, moderate, and severe presentations.
General knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment.
General knowledge of Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and Serious Mental Illness (SMI); experience treating patients within a Veterans Hospital PTSD and MHC setting with various MH and behavioral health concerns and comorbidities.
Assessment and intervention skills with some specialized experience in Evidence-Based Treatment.
Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of thorough risk assessment and mental health crisis procedures and ability to lead interdisciplinary treatment teams in intervening in patient mental health crises.
Experience with one or more Electronic Health Records systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
Must be a US citizen and reside in the United States.
