Overview Spiritual Care Associate (PRN) role located at Texas Health Frisco, 12400 Dallas Parkway, Frisco, TX 75033. Work hours are 15-20 hours scheduled with 100 hours of on-call per month.

Responsibilities

Provide professional pastoral and spiritual care to patients and their loved ones, using strong listening, observational, assessment, and interventional skills.

Assess patient and family spiritual resources and vulnerabilities, offering appropriate interventions and documenting care in the electronic medical record using Pastoral Care standardized processes.

Respond to calls within 10 minutes and arrive within 30 minutes; provide on-call reports when called into the hospital.

Support the Spiritual Care Department: participate in staff meetings, comply with department policies and procedures, complete required training and MyTalent modules when assigned, and participate in in-house coverage and hospital rituals and events.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program (4 years) REQUIRED. Will accept 4 years of experience in congregational pastoral care (not general ministry) in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Master's Degree (Master of Divinity, Theology, or related degree from an CHEA-accredited theological school) 72-hour degree program preferred.

Experience :

4 years of congregational pastoral care experience without a Bachelor's degree REQUIRED, or

With a Bachelor's degree — no previous experience required (REQUIRED).

Experience in congregational or hospital settings preferred.

1 unit of CPE from an ACPE-accredited center HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Skills :

Good written and oral communication; basic computer and electronic tools (email, calendar).

Ability to work with people of all faith traditions and cultural backgrounds.

Provide non-anxious presence during crises and bereavement with compassionate care.

Document patient care in the electronic medical record proficiency.

Offer religious/spiritual rites as requested; refer to outside clergy when appropriate.

Flexible schedule to support various entities/locations based on patient volumes and operational needs.
