Overview
The Upper Elementary Director provides spiritual, strategic, and relational leadership for CHCC’s 4th–5th grade ministry. This role helps preteens explore deeper faith questions, navigate growing relational dynamics, and take steps toward spiritual ownership.
Responsibilities
Lead the spiritual vision and strategic direction for the 4th–5th grade ministry.
Equip volunteers to lead with empathy, depth, and age‑appropriate programming.
Prepare students for the transition to Student Ministry.
Partner with families to support kids during a critical stage of development.
Supervise staff or volunteer teams and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Available evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, ministry, child development, or a related field; equivalent ministry experience may be considered.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in children’s ministry or related leadership, with demonstrated success in leading teams and developing age‑appropriate programming.
Experience supervising staff or leading large volunteer teams preferred.
Church‑based ministry experience strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to lead and develop volunteers, staff, and children with grace, accountability, and alignment to church values.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and common office technologies.
Capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure.
Must pass a CHCC background check.
