Overview

The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures utilizing various imaging equipment and contrast material. Prepares and administers contrast material based on Carle policies and procedures. Qualifications

Education Level : Associate's Degree or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology Licenses/Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency Registered in Radiography (R) within 1 year - ARRT Registered in Computed Tomography (CT) within 1 year - ARRT OR CNMT within 1 year - NMTCB

Work Experience : Radiology, 1+ years Specialized Knowledge and Skills : Positive attitude and ability to assess and improve work environment; ability to perform multiple tasks, coordinate patient flow, and perform various procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative Responsibilities

Essential Functions: Performs CT procedures and assigned invasive procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and manufacturer guidelines and department protocols; includes multiplanar reformats and 3D rendered images; reviews cases with radiologist; administers IV, oral, and/or rectal contrast; recognizes and responds to adverse/allergic reactions; screens for pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing if applicable. Ensures patient, visitor and environmental safety; reports safety events including near misses. Assists in instruction of students and new staff; may perform duties of CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator in absence. Meets productivity levels; assists other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity. May be required to perform duties of other modalities; cross-trained modalities as applicable. Complies with other job descriptions of cross-trained modalities. Required secondary registries are not required for cross trained modalities unless required by compliance/licensure/accrediting bodies. Department Specific Job Function

Performs CT procedures and invasive procedures per department protocols; performs multi-planar reformats and 3D rendered images independently; reviews case with radiologist. Administers IV contrast and oral/rectal contrasts; recognizes and responds to adverse reactions. Reviews radiology orders for completeness/accuracy; reviews patient history and clinical data for medical necessity; obtains additional information as needed. Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality by critiquing positioning, factors, alignment; reviews patient data for accuracy, quality, completeness. Transfers and verifies image data in PACS; provides medical history for radiologist interpretation; uses web server/EA viewer and email for after-hours preliminary readings. Maintains imaging equipment and workplace environment; maintains inventories; reports malfunctions. About Us

The compensation range for this position is $30.44 per hour - $52.36 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. Actual compensation offered depends on factors including experience, qualifications, location, licenses, shifts, and compensation model.
