Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions; communication between coaches, parents, and campers regarding medical information; and can handle and distribute prescription medication.
Athletic trainers can diagnose injuries including a head injury. Due to the time restraint of the camp, we cannot do a Return-to-play progression. Once a head injury is diagnosed, a camper needs full medical clearance from a doctor in order to return.
Duties/Responsibilities
Diagnose injuries including a head injury throughout camp (60%)
Communication between coaches, parents, and campers regarding medical information (30%)
Handle and distribute prescription medication (10%)
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Required Licenses & Certifications
Athletic training certification
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Can diagnose injuries including a head injury
