Linde . This position is based in East Chicago, IN. The objective of the Cathodic Protection Technician is to maintain Linde cathodic protection systems along the pipeline and facilities. The person will apply corrosion prevention concepts and perform corrective and preventative maintenance tasks on corrosion control equipment, including rectifiers, test stations, ground beds, and critical bonds. The candidate should be able to work independently and make technical decisions in the field. Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot cathodic protection systems and related equipment (rectifiers, test stations, ground beds, critical bonds). Perform cathodic protection surveys and maintenance to ensure regulatory compliance on Linde pipelines and facilities, mainly in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan and other locations; travel required (approximately 15%). Operate testing and diagnostic equipment and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Perform pipeline locates and utilize the DigTix system. Perform pipeline ROW (Right-of-Way) and aboveground piping inspections. Work in a combination of office and field environments; be prepared for varied weather conditions; overtime and callouts on weekends, nights, and holidays as needed. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Must hold or successfully complete NACE Cathodic Protection Technician (CP level 2) within one year of hire. Excellent communication and team interaction skills; proven ability to work independently and lead/participate on teams. Familiarity with CFR 49, Parts 192, 193, and 195 preferred. Valid U.S. Driver’s License. Proficient with computers and standard software (MS Office, Email, etc.). Ability to pass DOT drug screening and be subject to random testing. Ability to travel (approximately 15% of the time). Preferred Qualifications: AMPP/NACE CP2 Certification. Four or more years of experience with cathodic protection systems. About Linde
