7am-7:30pm with rotating weekend and holidays - 36 hrs Hiring Bonus:

A Brief Overview Coordinates professional nursing and individualized, family centered care to patients/families through the use of the nursing process and clinical skills in accordance with standards and hospital policies and procedures. On call responsibilities vary depending on department. Varied schedules to include weekend and holiday patterns. Essential Functions Conducts individualized age-specific patient/family assessments according to defined unit scope and nursing practice standards, appropriate collaborative problems (CPG's)/nursing diagnoses (ND's), or protocols. Admission Assessment: collects and documents data related to patient’s individualized care; demonstrates age-specific competency in assessment of patients; assesses patient/family need for education; assesses family expectations for involvement in care. Shift Assessment/Reassessment: performs reassessment based on unit standards and protocols; communicates changes to MD, Charge RN, and family as indicated. Cath Lab: schedules cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures with patient family; obtains permits after teaching patient/family about the procedure and related complications; collects and documents data related to patient’s response to procedure; documentation entered in medical records; circulates in procedures following AORN guidelines; assists at bedside; applies critical thinking during catheterization procedures. Develops individualized patient/family plan of care using guidelines to meet identified needs; prioritizes interventions based on assessments/reassessments; educates patient/family as needed. Implements and evaluates nursing actions; coordinates plan of care with team; ensures discharge instructions reflect care needs. Documentation: accurate assessment/evaluation, timely entries in medical records, and completion of computerized documentation and orders within established timeframes. Regular attendance and physical requirements are essential; mentors student nurse observation and serves as relief preceptor as needed. Accepts additional tasks professionally and supports teammates as needed. Education Qualifications Associate's Degree in Nursing (required) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required) Experience Qualifications Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Experience with pediatric patients preferred Previous experience with EPIC preferred Skills and Abilities Ability to perform a variety of duties under stressful conditions, with prioritization and efficiency. Licenses and Certifications RN license in Nebraska (or Compact state) Upon Hire BLS (American Heart Association) Upon Hire PALS (except NICU) within 180 days NRP (NICU only) within 180 days ACLS within 9 months (Cath Lab and ED) ENPC (ED only) within 1 year TNCC (ED only) within 1 year Radiology Nursing competencies as required Children’s is the very best for kids and the very best for your career.
