Physical Therapist Part Time (Healthcare)

Responsibilities: Evaluate patients within twenty-four (24) hours or one business day of physician referral. Document delays clearly in the medical record if evaluation cannot be completed within this timeframe. Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval from referring physicians. Treat patients according to the physician treatment plan. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in direct patient care and related activities, following state practice acts. Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans with supervisors and other health team members. Participate in Patient Care Conferences, Utilization Review meetings, and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed. Provide in-service training for staff within the facility. Maintain accurate records of evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, recertification documentation, in compliance with PT Board State Practice Act and payer requirements. Record treatment changes per policies and procedures. Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation. Participate in discharge planning. Recommend and facilitate ordering necessary durable medical equipment (e.g., braces, walkers, canes, grab bars) to promote patient independence. Report equipment issues to ensure maintenance. Establish positive, effective communication with patients, families, staff, and colleagues. Supervisory Requirements:

Supervise PT assistants, aides, and students. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; Master's or Doctorate preferred. Proficient in computer skills, including programs like Casamba and Point Click Care. Ability to read and understand technical procedures, policies, and manuals. Effective communication skills for presenting information and responding to questions. Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Problem-solving and interpretative skills for practical situations and instructions. Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state; ongoing continuing education required. Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; ability to exert significant force. Work Environment:
