Overview
RMCAD seeks qualified applicants to provide direct clinical services to students, including comprehensive intake assessments, treatment planning, short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals for specialized care when appropriate. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical records, participating in staff meetings, and staying current with best practices in college mental health counseling. Candidates must hold a master’s degree in a relevant mental health field, be fully licensed in Colorado, and bring at least two years of experience, preferably with college-aged populations. Strong clinical assessment skills, crisis intervention expertise, and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations are essential, along with a commitment to ethical practice and collaborative teamwork.
Compensation $27.50 - $32.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
Direct Clinical Services: Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide appropriate referrals to external resources when long-term or specialized care is needed.
Provide confidential, short-term individual counseling to students facing a wide range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, academic pressure, and identity-related challenges.
Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation services for students in acute distress, including suicide risk assessment and management.
Administrative & Professional Duties
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).
Participate in weekly staff meetings.
Stay current with best practices in college mental health counseling.
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution of higher education.
Licensure:
Fully licensed as a mental health professional (e.g., LPC) in the state of Colorado.
Experience:
At least two years of work experience in the mental health field, including brief and short-term models of psychotherapy, experience with a college-aged population, and demonstrated crisis intervention and risk assessment.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); ability to work effectively with a diverse student body; knowledge of developmental and mental health needs of college students; ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team; commitment to ethical practice and professional boundaries; familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
