The Occupational Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing therapeutic processes for assigned patients, collaborating with physicians and the care team. Responsibilities include patient assessments, developing and implementing care plans focused on goals, engagement, and positive experiences. The therapist also supports patients throughout the continuum of care, including home health. Key Responsibilities
Conduct evaluations and treatment within legal and ethical practice standards. Assess therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status; participate in patient placement and care planning. Provide purposeful, skilled interaction and use procedures to produce functional change per physician’s plan. Observe and report patient reactions and condition changes. Communicate payor requirements and patient needs to the team and family promptly. Prioritize caseload, determine staffing needs, and coordinate assignments. Qualifications
Graduate of an AOTA-accredited program with a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. Current registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Active Occupational Therapy Certification in Colorado. Current BLS certification per AHA guidelines. Clinical experience in settings such as acute care, long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehab. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment. National Certified Occupational Therapist (NBCOT). Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
