Overview

Echocardiographer | Full Time | Days | University – role at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. We are looking for an experienced Echocardiographer IV to perform routine and advanced echocardiogram and exercise echocardiogram examinations, including color flow mapping, cardiac Doppler imaging and 2-D M-mode, without the assistance of a cardiologist, on assigned patients. This role may also involve training and instructing other echocardiographers and participating in departmental education and quality activities. Performs routine, advanced, emergency, Doppler, and special procedures on patients without the assistance of a cardiologist or other physician (including Contrast Echos and TEE Echos). Functions in TEE, and/or Stress echocardiography and/or researches Echos performing accurate measurements and corrects 3D orientation. Takes a leadership role in the department when supervisor or Lead is not available. Attends and participates in departmental/hospital committees or group meetings as appointed or assigned. Participates in quality monitoring and evaluation activities. Demonstrates effective customer relations skills, promotes a positive work environment, and contributes to the overall team effort. In emergency situations, initiates code procedures, administers first aid or CPR as indicated. Takes responsibility for upkeep and troubleshooting of echo/TEE equipment; cleans equipment; performs minor repairs; reports the need for major repairs. Performs other job functions as assigned or requested. Education Qualifications

Technical Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Technical Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography. Experience Qualifications

3-5 years Echocardiography experience. Experience with TAVR and Watchman structural heart pre-procedure work-ups. Skills and Abilities

Demonstrates superior knowledge and expert practice in the echocardiographer role in routine and advanced procedures. Ability to function independently and perform Echo examinations in the designated area. Knowledge of equipment use and troubleshooting; applies comprehensive technical knowledge to complex assignments. Ability to guide, teach, and mentor other technicians and serve in a charge capacity. Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records. Strong verbal communication with associates, physicians, and outside professionals. Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgement. Ability to organize multiple tasks and manage workflow. Licenses and Certifications

HEARTSAVER – American Heart Association Registered Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Adult Echocardiography – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Pediatric Echocardiography – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Supervision Provided by this Position

No supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally perform lead responsibilities of other Associates. Physical Demands

Physical activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs frequently. Close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision for patient assessment, data analysis, transcription, and computer work.
