Medina Hospital’s 2 South Unit is a 25‑bed complex medicine unit recognized for its compassionate, patient‑first care, skilled nursing team and supportive work environment. As an RN on this unit, you will care for pre‑surgical patients and those requiring antibiotic therapy and wound care, perform advanced dressing changes, and assist with bedside thoracentesis and paracentesis procedures while collaborating with fellow caregivers to provide a welcoming, healing and safe environment for all patients. You will focus on enhancing care, helping facilitate a transformative experience for patients of all ages, medical histories and demographics.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working varying shifts between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care.

Implement and monitor patient care plans.

Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing.

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants.

Less than two years of experience, but post‑orientation/90‑day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval for internal applicants.

Military RN experience considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $41.00 Maximum hourly: $41.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
