SPEECH THERAPIST - Per Diem Variable (41773)

United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona The per diem speech-language pathologist provides speech therapy services to individuals and families served by UCP of Central AZ within the therapy program. Per diem therapists support programmatic needs including caseload development for new staff, evaluation support, specialty program schedules, models of therapy that have variable dosage and other short-term needs to support the therapy program.
Essential Functions
Follows the ASHA scope of practice for speech-language pathologists. Provides evaluations and direct therapy services in individual or small group sessions. Develops a therapeutic approach to exercises that can be carried out in the home and relates to daily living with individuals, families, and/or caregivers. Assists individuals, families, and/or caregivers to follow through on programs developed. Maintains availability in order to meet program needs related to scheduling. This can include high-demand seasons, specialty programs, completing evaluations, and covering full-time therapist absences. Works as part of a comprehensive interdisciplinary team on the implementation of individual goals and objectives. Completes evaluations, progress reports, billing notes, and all written documentation as needed. Maintains consistent communication with therapy team in order to support scheduling needs and clinical needs of individuals served in the therapy program. Other duties as necessary to promote speech-language development and ensure the health, safety, and general welfare of members and families. Maintain confidentiality Demonstrate UCP’s Values
Minimum
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with a pediatric internship. Verifiable experience writing prescriptive programs.
Preferred
Master's degree in Speech Pathology, with one or more years of experience working with children with developmental or multiple disabilities. Verifiable experience with pediatric evaluation and treatment. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Licenses/Certificates
Must possess Arizona speech-language pathology therapist license with certificate of clinical competence. ASHA Certification.
Requirements
Must meet agency licensure standards for fingerprinting, CPR and First aid. Advanced computer skills. Ability to use technology on hardware devices, mobile phones and software programs Must have reliable transportation with daily access to vehicle

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit, stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) medium to heavy weights up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, walk and run. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read, adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the phone.
Training Requirements
In accordance with UCP guidelines, it is necessary for employees to complete a series of trainings to meet the criteria for this position. The training department will provide a specific departmental guide for these requirements including additional updates.
Work Environment
