Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality care in a friendly and professional environment.
Duties
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and periodontal assessments for patients.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record system.
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary support.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Utilize dental software systems; we use Open Dental for patient management.
Skills
Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures.
Experience with medical coding and billing processes is a plus.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry.
Strong understanding of aseptic technique to maintain infection control standards.
Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, but new grads are welcome.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with the dental team.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing compassionate patient care.
