is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and managing the Patient Access department and for the performance and effectiveness of these department(s). The Manager will coach and develop staff performing these functions and implement short and long-term plans to improve customer service and collect quality information. As a subject matter expert, this person provides leadership and contributes to the revenue cycle and organizational goals and is responsible for meeting the mission and goals of Ensemble Health Partners, as well as regulatory compliance requirements. The Manager of Patient Access will work closely with the Director of Patient Access to align processes and procedures with Ensemble Health Partners policies at an assigned facility or market. Job Responsibilities: Directly manage operations for the admitting, registration, and financial services departments at acute care locations. Admitting staff assign accurate MRNs, perform medical necessity/compliance checks, provide patient instructions, collect insurance information, process physician orders, and deliver excellent customer service. Manage Financial Service Representatives and ensure proper accounting processes are followed, cash drawer is balanced, money is deposited timely and posted accurately, and logs are completed as requested by oversight departments. Develops and manages departmental staffing; prepares monthly reports; establishes departmental goals to optimize performance and improve operations, increasing customer satisfaction and meeting financial goals. Coordinate employee work schedules for adequate daily staffing. Collects, interprets and communicates performance data using various tools and systems; uses data to make decisions to achieve performance goals. Works with internal and external customers and with ancillary departments to achieve revenue cycle goals. Assists in the development of dyad-reporting for patient access staff. Provides training, education, goal-setting, and performance interventions as necessary to ensure adequate performance. Performs other duties as assigned.
