Reporting to the
Solar Site Supervisor , the
Solar Technician II or III
is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing solar PV systems and associated equipment for a 650MW solar utility site located in Daggett, CA. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable solar PV operation.
Technical Skills:
Executes routine electrical troubleshooting and repair, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting.
Performs complex maintenance work such as distributed control systems and inverter troubleshooting as assigned by supervisor based on level of skill and ability.
Complete work orders for the preventive maintenance management system
Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on all PV Solar equipment.
Prepares and implements switching and clearance orders, while working with Operations Center
Operates all electrical and mechanical PV Solar power plant systems.
Participates in training as required, JHA, PJB, LOTO documentation.
Ensures work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
Qualifications:
1-10+ years of Solar Utility O&M experience.
Troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing solar PV systems
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Knowledge of distributed controls systems, inverters and battery storage knowledge is a huge plus.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical fundamentals of PV systems.
2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman certification and qualifications preferred.
Compensation: $35-$51/hr. plus 6% bonus and full benefits.
