Athletic Trainer Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer located in Providence, RI. The program has 34 varsity teams and approximately 1,000 NCAA D‑1 athletes.

The role provides medical care and health education to student‑athletes, minimizes injury risk, and guides rehabilitation. The primary athletic trainer will be assigned to sports teams under the guidance of the Associate Director of Athletics, Sports Medicine.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree, required.

RI Athletic Training License (must be obtained prior to hire).

Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic training (NATABOC).

Maintain BOCNATABOC certification and CEUs each reporting period.

A minimum of one year of relevant athletic training experience.

Emergency Cardiac Care certification as required by the BOC.

Manual therapy certification preferred.

Job Competencies

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.

Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students.

Strong work ethic, passion for the profession, and commitment to student‑athletes.

Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, internet, and email.

Experience with electronic medical records system helpful.

Must complete criminal background, education, and DMV check prior to employment.

Background Check Criminal, education, and DMV checks are required. Employees must also maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification per NCAA and Ivy League rules.
