Overview
Ultrasound Tech provides excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. This position is PRN (as needed) at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado. Responsibilities
Ensure proper patient identification, verify orders, and prepare patients for exams. Use proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality diagnostic exams. Demonstrate ability to perform any exam on all ages (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics) using appropriate protocol and following ACR guidelines. Demonstrate proficiency on all clinical equipment within the department. Complete and annotate medically acceptable exams following ACR guidelines while producing maximum diagnostic information efficiently. Follow protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtain consents if necessary, document events for quality, maintain a current QC program for ACR, and report equipment failures or problems. Exhibit good safety practices in body substance protection, equipment cleaning, sterile techniques, and removal of expired materials. Accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage. Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and eligibility for ARRT registration Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of diagnostic radiology experience Minimum Qualifications II
Experience in a variety of diagnostic areas, including acute care Currently working in an acute care setting performing diagnostic exams including fluoroscopy (fixed/c-arm) and mobile imaging ARRT (R) certification Current Radiologic Technologist license in state of practice BLS for healthcare providers IV certification (may not be required at all sites) Preferred Qualifications II
Leadership experience 3-5 years as a Radiology Technologist Physical Requirements
