Overview Valor Health is seeking a dedicated Sleep Technician to perform comprehensive sleep testing and analysis under the supervision of a sleep technologist or medical director.

Principal Functions & Responsibilities
Review the patient’s history and verify the medical order.
Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study.
When the patient arrives, verify identification, collect documents and obtain consent for the study.
Explain the procedure and orient the patient for either in‑center or out‑of‑center sleep testing.
Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary.
Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization.
Follow procedural protocols (e.g., MSLT, MWT, parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration) to ensure appropriate data collection.
Perform physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals and make required adjustments.
Follow “lights out” procedures to document baseline values such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates.
Acquire data while monitoring study‑tracing quality to ensure artifact‑free signals.
Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results.
Implement appropriate interventions (e.g., positive airway pressure, oxygen administration) for patient safety and therapeutic effect.
Follow “lights on” procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process.
Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages using professionally accepted guidelines.
Assist with scoring clinical events (e.g., respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals) utilizing AASM standards.
Assist with the generation of accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age‑specific care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Qualifications & Requirements
Successful completion of a sleep technology program from a state‑licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility, plus BLS certification.
OR a minimum of six months of experience as a sleep trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
OR a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with six months in sleep lab experience or a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with one year full‑time lab experience.
OR holds a Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RRT‑SDS, RRT‑RPSGT, CRT‑RPSGT) or Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT).
Working conditions: exposure to patient care environment.
Physical: sitting, standing, walking, lifting.
