Job: Child Welfare Caseworker- Resource Family Specialist

This is a specialized position that works with kinship and foster families. The caseworker collaboratively provides support and case management to kinship and foster families with open child welfare cases. Position educates providers in the Family-to-Family philosophy, needs of children who have experienced abuse or neglect, unique challenges of kinship and foster care, and State and Department regulations. This position recruits foster and foster-adoptive homes, walks all families through the certification process, provides supervision of the home, and completes adoption home studies; working in conjunction with other caseworkers to fulfill permanency goals and expectations. Responsibilities and Qualifications: Level I:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field. Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Level II:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field and minimum of one year of full-time professional caseworker experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency. Level III:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field and minimum of two years of progressively responsible, full-time, professional case worker experience, appropriate to the assignment, acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency. Level IV:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field and minimum of one-year full time, paid experience obtained in a social services agency at a Case Worker III Level. Additional Requirements:

Proof of valid Colorado driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition and liability insurance must be on file at all times.
