Join our team as a Dental Assistant at Columbia Basin Pediatric Dentistry in Kennewick, WA. We are a leading community health center with over 40 clinics across Washington and Oregon, offering services including medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, and behavioral health.
Position Highlights
$22.29–$27.31 DOE with potential for higher salaries for experienced candidates
$5,000.00 Hiring/Retention Bonus Structure:
At Hire: $1,500.00
At 180 days (6 months): $2,000.00
At 12 months: $1,500.00
Bonus is pro‑rated based on Full Time Equivalency (FTE)

What You’ll Do
Update patient medical records and conduct X‑ray procedures (panoramic & intraoral)
Record periodontal charting and prepare instruments for Provider exams
Mix exam materials with infection control awareness and perform preventative care (fluoride treatments)
Monitor nitrous oxide analgesia under Provider supervision (only in Washington)
Educate patients on oral hygiene in clinic and school‑based programs
Assist in patient infection control, sterilize instruments/equipment
May assist in Orthodontics, including patient records, bite registrations, models, retainers, and ligature ties
May perform Lead duties: daily flow, liaison, manage breaks/lunches, sick calls, overtime, training new or existing staff
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
BLS certification within 90 days
Surgical Technologist Registration if assisting in an operating room
Registration as a Dental Assistant or EFDA certification (state of Washington required for essential functions)
NOTE:
Dental Assistants without Washington registration may observe patient care and assist with paperwork and receptionist roles only until registration is received
Dental Assistant Registration must be completed within 7 days of hire unless approved by the Clinic Administrator
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred at level 10 for differential pay
Basic knowledge of medical/dental terminology, dental anatomy, materials/instruments, infection control techniques, and oral health instruction
Ability to perform four‑handed dental assisting, instrument transfer, oral evacuation, cement mixing, and spatulation
Strong manual dexterity and coordination; professional interaction with patients of all ages and staff
Basic proficiency in an Electronic Dental Record (EDR), Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
