Full Time, Monday to Friday
Job Details: We are currently looking for a specialist thoracic histopathologist (with GMC registration, FRCPath status, evidence of completion of CESR/portfolio if applicable and NHS experience). The ideal candidate would also be able to report in one or two other histopathology subspecialities. DE only – please let me know if you can start ASAP, full time for 3–6 months with possible extension.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis using various methods to ensure practical understanding.
Lead a multidisciplinary team where appropriate.
Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
Examine a range of patients, using your diagnostic skills to determine any tests needed.
Support and advise clinical staff on the use and limitations of each diagnostic investigation.
Provide advice and interpret test results, assessing the appropriateness of further investigations.
Deliver clinical care to patients where needed and conduct ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
Oversee the smooth running of the Pathology Department, planning workload and staffing requirements as required.
Supervise and teach junior medical staff as required.
Carry out research and keep up to date with new information.
Adhere to the NMC professional Code of Conduct.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications – Essential
Be a GMC registered Doctor with full license to practice.
Must hold FRCPath Part 2.
Completion of higher training (CCT or within 6 months of obtaining).
Applicants without CCT registration must be able to demonstrate extensive prior experience working at consultant grade & hold FRCPath Part 2.
Must have evidence of Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
Pass an enhanced background check (DBS).
Willing to work as PAYE only; not a private or insourcing role.
