The CT Technologist (RRT) expertly handles specialized technical duties, utilizing their skills to set up advanced computed tomography equipment, position patients with precision, and acquire high-quality cross-sectional diagnostic images of internal body structures. This vital role is essential for the detection, diagnosis, and evaluation of various pathologies. Our technologists consistently provide exceptional computed tomography service coverage beyond normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, ensuring patient care remains uncompromised.
Key responsibilities
Produce top-tier radiographic images through precise positioning and optimal technical factors.
Operate CT scanners, power injectors, and post-processing equipment with proficiency; adjust protocols as necessary to cater to individual patient needs.
Critically evaluate completed procedures to ensure they meet high diagnostic quality standards.
Perform general radiography exams when required, maintaining a repeat rate at or below the national standard.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging terminology and procedures; manage front desk and file room operations.
Communicate effectively with patients, inform them of delays, and explain procedures to ensure comfort.
Gather relevant patient history and prepare patients effectively for examinations.
Encourage research at the technologist level and stay updated with new procedures and examinations in diagnostic imaging practice.
Select appropriate equipment and set it up based on procedural protocols, specifications, and standards.
Evaluate the technical quality of images and assist radiologists during invasive procedures such as biopsies and abscess drainages, positioning patients according to anatomy and age-specific guidelines.
Practice thorough patient identification and record complete and pertinent patient histories, effectively conveying information to the radiologist.
Collaborate with radiologists to ensure optimal patient care and adherence to established protocols.
Qualifications Qualifications for this role
include American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration — a requirement — along with an advanced registry in Computed Tomography. Candidates must possess a two-year allied health degree and a minimum of two years of current, full-time experience in both CT and x-ray within a hospital or Emergency Department setting.
