Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
at our
OBGYN of East Brunswick
in East Brunswick, Piscataway and Edison, NJ. Full-time hours may include Monday-Friday 7:45 am-5:00 pm, with one late night schedule of 11:30-7:30 and Friday 7:45-3:45. Per Axia Women’s Health patient protocol and care center physicians, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) engages with patients by assisting with patient care, recording critical patient information, and providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from our clinical services.
Responsibilities
Adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and standardized quality control methods; per infection control protocols, preparing exam/procedure rooms between patient visits, cleaning rooms, setting up instruments and equipment, and maintaining and cleaning sterilizer according to the scheduled maintenance program. Accompanying patients to exam/procedure room and assisting as needed with walking transfers or dressing. Maintaining patient records by accurately recording patient medical history, obtaining and recording patient vital signs, symptoms, complaints, and medications; obtaining and scanning lab or imaging reports, as well as hospital notes into the EMR to provide complete patient information to the provider. Performing venipuncture and collecting specimens as needed. Assisting the provider with various procedures and screenings. Relaying instructions and pertinent information to patients. Completing forms/requisitions as needed to ensure patient records are accurate and claims can be properly billed. Adhering to patient confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Phlebotomy skills. Ability to independently obtain patient vital signs. Positive and professional attitude. Strong attention to detail and communication skills. Ability to work with teams across the business to maximize impact of the overall effort. Ability to work a flexible schedule and at satellite locations, where applicable, as needed.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program. Current national certification as a Medical Assistant (such as CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NCMA) required. CPR certification required. Minimum 1 year of recent medical assistant experience in a medical facility/office or combination of experience and documented evidence of medical assistant internship. OB/GYN or Women’s Health experience preferred. eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience beneficial.

Pay range: $18 USD to $23 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
