The Department of Ophthalmology at the
University of Virginia School of Medicine
is seeking applicants for a tenure-eligible faculty position specializing in glaucoma. The department serves as the ophthalmic referral center for central and western Virginia and parts of West Virginia, North Carolina, and eastern Tennessee. The high patient volume offers excellent opportunities for advancement in ophthalmology. Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience. The position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. Qualified candidates must have an MD or equivalent by the start date and must have completed a fellowship in glaucoma. The incumbent should be committed to a career in academic medicine, interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and/or research, and must be American Board of Ophthalmology certified or board-eligible.
