Under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager or Supervisor, the Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates all aspects of patient care. The rehabilitation staff nurse creates a therapeutic environment that promotes patient and family development through optimism, encouragement, and praise for positive behaviors and goal achievement. Responsibilities
Provide age-appropriate care for patients from adolescent to geriatric, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles. Assess patient data and interpret information to determine individual care requirements based on hospital policies and procedures. Lead a team and supervise LPNs, CNAs/NAs, and Unit Secretaries. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required. CRRN preferred; Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of hospital/rehabilitative experience preferred. Current RN license issued by Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners required. CPR certification required; must be maintained. Clearances and Certifications
PA State Police criminal background check. PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse Central Register (Childline). FBI fingerprint clearance through PA Department of Human Services and PA Department of Aging (if applicable). Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Medium work: exerting 25-50 lbs. occasionally and 10-25 lbs. frequently. Ability to transport self throughout the facility, involving bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting. Exposure to blood, body substances, and needle sticks possible. Work in well-lit, ventilated environments including patient rooms and treatment areas. Additional Information
