Job Summary The Registered Nurse independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care using standards of care, policy, and procedure. Provides direct nursing care, assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities, participates in shared decision making, unit committees, and quality improvement activities. Needs minimal supervision.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develops plans with strategies to attain expected outcomes.
Implements care plans and medical interventions appropriately.
Coordinates care delivery.
Uses patient teaching to promote health and safety.
Evaluates progress toward outcomes.
Practices ethically.
Maintains current nursing knowledge and competence.
Integrates evidence and research into practice.
Supports quality nursing practice and shared decision making.
Communicates effectively across all areas of practice.
Demonstrates leadership within the professional setting.
Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Utilizes resources to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient nursing services.
Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
Fosters and participates in shared decision-making within the NCH Healthcare System.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Florida.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
New RN graduates are placed into the RN Residency Program.
Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows.
