The role you\'ll contribute:
The PACU Charge Nurse provides professional nursing care for the post-operative patient during PACU stay and during transfer of the patient to the appropriate unit. The value you\'ll bring to the team:
Utilizes management skills and positive leadership to promote continuity, supervise, evaluate and review patient care activities in the PACU throughout the shift to ensure delivery of quality care and maintenance of standards of the department.
Organizes and plans work assignments at start of shift making appropriate assignments based on case load and patient needs.
Supervises and evaluates care delivered by staff members.
Provides constructive criticism and counseling of staff when necessary to facilitate productivity and quality of service on consistent basis.
Identifies and takes appropriate action to resolve problems as they arise communicating with patient/significant other, anesthesia physicians and other hospital personnel when appropriate.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you\'ll need to succeed: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
BSN preferred
One to two years nursing experience with surgical patients.

ACLS/PALS
