Provides routine patient care services to patients under the direction of a professional nurse. Duties include assisting patients in daily living activities, taking and recording vital signs, facilitating psycho‑educational group sessions, and using crisis intervention techniques as needed. Assists patients with daily living activities (1‑to‑1 supervision, laundry, bathing, toileting). Conducts patient search at admission, upon return from pass, or as clinically indicated under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a role model of healthy interpersonal relationships and demonstrates appropriate behavior for patients, family, and staff. Qualifications – Required
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. Completion of one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician program, Fundamentals of Nursing program, HMH PCT Apprenticeship Program, or equivalent medical or behavioral health background experience. The ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong sense of accountability, teamwork, dedication to ongoing education, and passion to deliver high‑quality care. Qualifications – Preferred
Experienced or certified in phlebotomy and EKG, vital signs, blood sugar. At least one year of PCT, MHT, CNA or other behavioral health experience in a hospital setting. Experience with behavioral health patients. Completed a PCT program with phlebotomy, EKG, and nursing assistant courses. Licenses & Certifications Required
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering the position. Compensation
Starting at $20.32 hourly. This rate is a good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act. Employment Type
