Hours & Schedule

Hours per week: PRN (as needed) Shift: Varied shifts which may include days/evenings/nights. This position may also include weekends as determined by the needs of the department. Position is eligible for shift differentials (PRN, evening, night & weekend).

Salary

Salary Range: $29.48 to $40.87 (hour)

Based on hours worked per week and years of experience.

Responsibilities

Produces high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology. Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients. Provides age-appropriate care and prepares patients for procedures. Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others. Operates all Diagnostic imaging equipment; follows safety procedures and protocols for ancillary equipment. Utilizes ALARA principles and ensures proper radiation safety practices. Maintains competency in dose reduction techniques and the Image Gently Campaign. Demonstrates and maintains competency with Radiology Information System (RIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) as it pertains to modality-specific functions. In the event of an emergency, acts as first responder and provides Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives. Verifies patient allergies and clinical indications prior to contrast administration; safely administers contrast using the five rights and documents in the medical record. Assists Providers with procedures as necessary, following established guidelines; documents information as required; practices aseptic/sterile technique and standard precautions when necessary. Follows department policies, procedures, and protocols; raises or addresses concerns regarding non-compliance or patient/staff safety. Follows QA/QC and safety programs to include The Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR), and the State of Colorado. Reports equipment malfunctions or errors and coordinates with service engineers or Biomed for repair. Communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms, following department guidelines for customer service. Maintains flexibility around shift scheduling, location, call requirements, overtime, and weekend assignments to align with organizational need.

Qualifications

Education

– Graduation from an accredited Radiology program Certification

– Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R); American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
