An employee-owned company, Engineering Industries (EI Plastic Molding) has an immediate opening for an experienced Production Lead. As a Production Lead, this position is responsible for activities associated with the startup of injection molding presses, troubleshooting issues to keep presses running, and shut down of presses at the end of production runs and work shifts.
Responsibilities
Work with supervisors to start up and shut down production operations. Read specifications and work orders to determine setups, temperatures, and time settings required to mold plastic materials, as well as to plan production sequences. Start machines and set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure, temperature, and to synchronize speed of the injection molding machines. Set up of auxiliary equipment as needed. Observe meters and gauges to verify and record temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times. Monitor equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and troubleshoot to fix any malfunctions. Clear jams and remove defective or substandard materials or products. Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, adjusting as necessary. Provide assistance to press operators on production runs; resolve production problems and troubleshoot jobs as required. Document parameter discrepancies to supervisor and engineering. Follow up on changes needed to processes. Operate, or tend plastic molding machines to mold thermoplastic parts as needed.
