Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens

Location: Hazel Crest, IL 60429 (Chicago area healthcare jobs)

Facility: Teaching Hospital – blended lab (Cath Lab, IR, EP)

Employment Type: Locum tenens / Travel nursing contract

Start Date: October 13, 2025

End Date: January 9, 2026

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shifts per Week: 4 (10-hour day shifts, 07:00–17:30)

Total Hours: 40 hours/week

On Call: Yes (7 days/month; 1 weekday call/week, 1 weekend/4 weeks; 30-minute response time)

Patient Ratio: 1:1

Charting System: EPIC

Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $3120 - $3200

Cath Lab RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois

BSN required

Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience

ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)

Strong IV skills and ability to work independently in a clinical setting

Critical care nursing experience preferred

Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and medication titration

First-time travel nurses welcome to apply

Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in a blended lab environment (Cath Lab, IR, EP)

Assist with advanced procedures: STEMI, IABP, PCI, thoracentesis, paracentesis, embolization, line placements, CT biopsies, and more

Float between Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology as needed

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RN coordinators and lead technologists

Utilize EPIC charting and operate advanced equipment (Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis, CV PACS, MERGE Hemo, Phillips C-arm)

Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to urgent cases

Maintain strict infection control and patient safety standards

Engage in orientation and ongoing professional development within the healthcare team
