RN Apprentice Nurse – DeKalb Acute Medical Care Unit – PT
The Apprentice Nursing Student works under a supervising licensed nurse who serves as a mentor. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The apprentice must be able to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, organize, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Enrolled in a Board approved nursing education program
Actively engaged in a registered apprenticeship
Has obtained a Student Nurse Apprentice permit issued by the Alabama Board of Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period
