Your job is in the sleep laboratory, performing basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies, monitoring brain waves, eye movements, oxygen levels, heart rate and breathing during sleep stages, and helping identify sleep-related disorders to support patient health. Responsibilities

Perform sleep studies including procedures like Electroencephalograms, Electrooculogram, Electromyogram, Respiratory effort, Airflow, Oximetry, End Tidal, PAP Device flow, and related tests. Provide clear explanations of procedures to the patient and/or responsible person present. Recognize documents, eliminate artifacts, and monitor for suspected artifacts. Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained in proper working order after use; troubleshoot and replace parts as needed, notifying the manager. Stay current with new equipment and software implemented by the department and/or hospital. Communicate with technical support during troubleshooting of equipment. Demonstrate universal precautions and appropriate isolation techniques when delivering patient care. Lift, move, or transfer patients using proper body mechanics. Qualifications

Minimum

Graduate of CAAHEP Polysomnography Program or a minimum of 6 months of experience in sleep medicine or respiratory procedures. Licensed Polysomnographic Tech - Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) - American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification Work Shift
