Beds: 40 beds Census: Average patients/day: 36 Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years Will you accept a first-time traveler: No There is a resident or assigned provider: 24/7 Patient Types / Common Diagnoses
Patients with solid tumors of head/neck, bladder, kidneys, stomach, pancreas, lungs, colon/rectal Post surgical Oncology patients Staffing Ratios
RN: 1:4-5 CNA: 1:10-12 Licensure & Certifications
RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team Requirement) Skills
Trach/Lary Care, Surgical Drains (JP, Hemovac, CT, Foley, Ostomy, Urostomy); Central line maintenance, dressing changes, wound vacs; PCA pumps, Epidurals, chest tubes Heavy Cardio Thoracic (more Thoracic) surgical Unit Support & Operations
CNA: Patient rounds at least every 4hrs to complete VS, drain collections, blood sugars, and complete daily cares. Daily tasks include weights, baths (with CHG), linen changes, assistance with meal ordering, and assisting with ambulation Unit secretary: 0730-2330 Charge nurse / Resource RN: 90% of time are free floating Phlebotomy: Phlebotomy tech completes routine rounds on the unit. STAT and timed labs will fall under the nurse's responsibility if phlebotomy is not present No IV team but VARs Team accessible during the day RT 24/7 There is a resident or assigned provider 24/7 Central telemetry monitoring Technology & Equipment
EMR: Epic IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Philips and Visi (Visi will be replaced soon) Scheduling & Orientation
Orientation (facility and unit): NEO; 2 days departmental Weekend rotation: every other No call Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays RTO: up to 7 days, must extend contract to accommodate Shift times: 0630-1900 (days) or 1830-0700 (nights) Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks 5 Facility Float Clause - Emergency Only Scrub Color: Royal Blue Parking: Free, on site Unit Culture: Traveler friendly, supportive of learning/teaching, heavy involvement from Leadership team Seniority level
