Manual Machinist
to join a well-established industrial repair and manufacturing shop in Portland. This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of manual machining equipment, including large vertical boring mills, to produce and repair precision components used in critical industries. About the Role: As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manual machine tools to repair and manufacture large-scale industrial parts. The work involves precision machining for industries such as wind energy, hydroelectric power, pulp & paper, marine, steel, and other heavy industrial sectors. This is a

—not CNC—designed for a machinist who enjoys working on diverse, challenging projects. What You’ll Do: Operate large vertical boring mills and other manual shop equipment Perform precision machining, repair, and fabrication of industrial components Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Inspect finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely What We’re Looking For: Proven experience as a manual machinist (experience with large workpieces a plus) Strong understanding of machining processes, speeds, and feeds Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications Commitment to safety and quality workmanship Reliability, teamwork, and strong problem-solving skills
