Must possess a Veterinary Medical Degree (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA-accredited or approved veterinary school or have passed the Foreign Veterinarian Equivalency Examination. Required to maintain an active Maryland state veterinary medical license, federal DEA controlled substances license, and USDA Category II accreditation. Must participate in an Occupational Health Program and have/maintained medical clearance and training for respirator use. Experience with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint. ARS Software: Electronic animal records keeping. Duties / Responsibilities

Serve as a clinician and technical expert in veterinary care for all species of animals by conducting physical examinations and using diagnostic testing to determine conditions, providing prophylactic or therapeutic treatment and/or surgical intervention as needed. Cares for a wide range of species including traditional laboratory animals, domestic livestock, companion animals, aquatic species, poultry, and wildlife. Ensure humane care and use of animals in accordance with applicable Federal Animal Welfare Regulations and biosecurity best practices. Maintain accreditation-related program standards and assist with AAALAC and PHS Animal Welfare Assurance where applicable. Perform necropsies/post-mortem procedures, clinical observations, histopathology, and biochemical testing to support research studies; document findings and prognostic assessments. Coordinate rodent sentinel programs, collect and analyze data on animal health, and maintain accurate records of health status and outcomes. Provide pharmacology expertise to coordinate drug use in experimental animals; maintain inventory of medicines and monitor treatment effectiveness. Work environment & safety

Work is performed in an office setting and in animal housing facilities, necropsy rooms, surgery suites, ABSL-2 labs, and laboratories. Potential exposure to temperature extremes, odors, and risks associated with handling animals and biological agents; adhere to biosafety and biosecurity requirements. New Solutions’ safety training requirements include Initial Laboratory Biosafety Training and OSHA BBP, with ongoing training and surveillance where applicable. Other requirements

Training required by veterinarians to maintain state or other certification. Health and Safety: Coordination with Safety and Occupational Health Unit (SOHU) and Biosafety/Biosecurity Officer (BSO) as part of ongoing training and compliance. Company note
