Department: PCH-MAIN | Interventional Radiology Location: Phoenix Shift: Mon-Fri, Sat, Sun (Days Vary); Shifts Vary, 8:30am-7pm Category: Radiology/Imaging Svcs Posting #: 950773 Employee Type: Full-Time Position Summary
This position performs radiographic procedures for interventional studies in specialized areas. Position Duties
This position receives supervision of work activities from the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and does not supervise any other position. Coordinates daily work schedule with Radiologists and responds to emergencies as they occur. Demonstrates competency in use of RIS and PACS. Orders, maintains, and understands the use and function of ancillary equipment used in diagnostic and therapeutic examinations. Participates in continuing education. Trains with IV team prior to venous punctures. Takes certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Performs venous punctures and maintains central venous line during examination. Is prepared to administer CPR. Operates radiographic equipment to produce angiographic, digital, and other specialized images. Performs duties of Team Leader in their absence. Performs follow-up observation and monitoring until patients leave the department. Performs hemodynamic monitoring duties, including setup and maintenance of transducer, physiological data recorder, ECG monitor, oximetry, digital cardiac outputs, and peripheral vascular recorders. Performs image manipulation according to department protocol. Performs on-call duties and variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs. Performs quality control checks on equipment and ensures proper procedures are followed. Performs radiographic procedures for interventional studies. Prepares patients for procedures. Explains procedures. Injects approved medications under the direct presence and supervision of Radiologists performing diagnostic and therapeutic IR procedures. Teaches use of IR equipment and procedures to staff. Performs research projects under the direction of Radiologists or Section Chiefs. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested. Qualifications
Education Successful completion of a JRCERT approved radiologic program Experience One year diagnostic imaging experience Experience in interventional radiology and/or Cath lab (required) One year pediatric imaging experience (preferred) Certification / License / Registry Current ARRT license (Required) Current Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency MRTBE license (Required) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (Required) Additional Requirements ARRT, AZ Radiology License or AZ Cert Rad Tech – Required Physical requirements and occupational exposure/risk elements apply as listed Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential Climbing: Occasionally Hearing, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills: Constantly Lifting up to 35 pounds; lifting more than 35 pounds with/without assistance: Constantly/As needed Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching: Constantly Working in an environment with exposure to radiation, hazardous materials, and airborne particles I have reviewed the qualifications, physical requirements and occupational exposure/risk potential for this position and wish to apply I Agree Seniority level
