Guardian Fleet Services is seeking a skilled
Diesel Mechanic
to join our team. The successful candidate will inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of vehicles, including tow trucks and wreckers with gas and diesel engines. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of vehicle repair, from routine servicing to computer-aided diagnostics and air brake repairs. The Diesel Mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining clear repair records, ensuring a clean work area, and effectively communicating with team members. This position offers a $1500 Sign-on Bonus. Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic tests on Diesel vehicles and replace components as necessary, including the engine, transmission, steering mechanism, and braking system. Develop comprehensive work plans after fully diagnosing vehicle issues. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks. Maintain accurate records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles. Communicate effectively and professionally with team members and customers. Manage time effectively and pay close attention to detail when documenting information. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and certification and training in diesel engine repair. Advanced knowledge of vehicles, their electrical systems, and the mechanisms of a diesel engine. Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software. Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics. Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills. A valid driver’s license. Physical Requirements
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, working outdoors; environment can be exposed to extreme cold and heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud. Lifting over 50 lbs is a job requirement; must not have lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights. Will work with hydraulic oils, motor oils, antifreeze, and diesel fuels. Must have the ability to sit, stand, lie on the ground, bend over, and move intermittently. Benefits Offered
