We’re seeking a skilled and safety-minded
Electrical Field Service Testing Technician
to join our growing power systems team. You’ll perform commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medium- to high-voltage electrical systems for industrial, commercial, and utility clients. This is a hands‑on field role requiring strong electrical knowledge, precision, and travel flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning tests on electrical power systems (480V–345kV).
Conduct protective relay testing (electromechanical, solid‑state, and microprocessor‑based).
Troubleshoot control circuits, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and breakers.
Interpret one‑line diagrams, wiring schematics, and relay logic.
Operate Doble, OMICRON, Megger, and RTS/AVTS testing equipment.
Interface directly with customers and generate test reports per NETA, IEEE, and NFPA 70E standards.
Uphold strict safety protocols on all job sites.
Travel up to 50% (regional and national).
Qualifications:
1–3+ years of electrical testing, commissioning, or maintenance experience.
Knowledge of circuit breakers, relays, and transformer systems.
Familiarity with SEL, GE Multilin, ABB, Schweitzer, and Basler relays.
Skilled in reading technical drawings and using diagnostic software.
Valid driver’s license and clean record.
Excellent safety awareness and documentation skills.
Preferred:
Prior
U.S. Navy EM or Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical) , or
U.S. Army Prime Power Specialist .
NETA Level II
or
NICET Level III/IV
certification.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
OSHA 10/30 or CPR/First Aid certification
