We’re proud to be the #1-selling refrigerated dinner sides, including many varieties of feel-good favorites such as mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. We’re also a leading producer and distributor of sausage and bacon products, potato products, and egg products including liquid eggs. Our brand portfolio includes Bob Evans, Simply Potatoes, Egg Beaters and Owens Sausage. Bob Evans Farms is based in Columbus, Ohio.
In September of 2017, Bob Evans Farms was acquired by Post Holdings, Inc. and is part of the Refrigerated Retail division. Other divisions of Post include Post Consumer Brands (Cereal), Weetabix (Cereal – UK), Michael Foods (Foodservice), and 8th Avenue Food & Provisions (Private Label). Post has aggressive growth plans for BEF, highlighted by the recent deployment of capital to support innovation, marketing and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
The Master Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all electrical systems, including systems additions or modifications on a variety of plant equipment and facilities. They will be responsible for working on all electrical systems that 480 volts and below at the Hillsdale location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments or replacements.
Create, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of equipment in the plant.
Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate testing equipment and tools. This may include control hardware, including PLCs and HMIs.
Partner with machine operators on equipment troubleshooting and automation needs to increase efficiency.
Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.
Fabricate/weld parts as needed.
Lead, train, and guide other electricians or qualified maintenance personnel in applicable procedures and techniques.
Perform building, routine, and preventative maintenance, including repairs to facility equipment – mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of both equipment and supplies.
Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Perform other job duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED.
Possession of a current State of Michigan Master Electrician certification, and maintain certification as required.
Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S (including Kaizen and Gemba).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in hot, humid, and/or cold manufacturing environments.
Must be able to crouch, kneel, and stoop for prolonged periods.
Must be able to climb ladders as needed.
