What you will be doing

Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; makes adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts. Maintain equipment availability through preventive maintenance, component upgrades, corrosion control, and winterization procedures. Verify vehicle performance via test drives; adjust controls and systems. Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Keep vehicle records by documenting services and repairs. Ensure shop equipment operates smoothly by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. Manage costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options. Maintain inventory by stocking supplies, placing orders, and verifying receipts. Update knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Enhance the maintenance department's reputation by taking ownership and exploring value-added opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience & Education

Industry experience of 12+ years Certifications for Detroit, Cummins, Freightliner, or Total Truck Care (preferred) Skills

Tooling, Supply Management, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Technical Understanding Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control Compensation & Benefits

Compensation:

$37.50/hr - $40.96/hr, based on experience, certifications, and education Benefits:
