Join to apply for the

Electrical Engineer I

role at

V2X Inc . V2X, located in Indianapolis, IN, is searching for an energetic and highly motivated candidate to join its Electrical Hardware Engineering organization. The Electrical Engineer I is responsible for aspects of designing, simulating, validating, and repairing printed circuit boards, embedded systems, and fielded subsystem sustainment for defense missions. As an Electrical Engineer I you will help shape the next generation of defense hardware and sustain legacy equipment and subsystems transitioning from development to production. In this role you’ll identify interface and functional requirements with engineers of other disciplines, determine functional circuit approaches, and transition to component research and selection. You will draft, review, and update schematics for mission‑critical boards. Current designs focus on UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB, PCIe interfaces and power conversion technologies such as buck/boost regulators. Once the hardware is defined, you’ll run detailed analog and digital simulations in LTSpice, Simetrix/SIMPLIS, and ANSYS SiWave to verify performance, validate thermal and EMI/EMC criteria, and drive design trade‑offs. Responsibilities

Design, simulate, validate, and repair PCBs, embedded systems, and fielded subsystems for defense missions. Identify interface and functional requirements and lead junctions with cross‑discipline teams. Draft, review, and update schematics for mission‑critical boards; work with interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB, PCIe. Perform hardware trade studies and simulations using LTSpice, Simetrix/SIMPLIS, and ANSYS SiWave to verify performance, thermal, and EMI/EMC criteria. Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless subsystem integration. Develop production documentation including engineering drawings, bill of materials, and production test plans. Support creation of technical reports, test procedures, and safety documentation; maintain version control and design history per V2X processes. Qualifications

Component research experience (connectors, passives, semiconductors, protocol interface ICs). Experience with electrical laboratory tools: multimeter, adjustable power supply, oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator, spectrum analyzer. Schematic capture (Altium Designer); analog, power, digital, and mixed‑signal design. Simulation experience with LTSpice, Simetrix/SIMPLIS, ANSYS SiWave. Positive attitude, proven leadership, customer focus, and ability to collaborate. Exposure to digital circuit design, schematic capture, embedded firmware design, and/or VHDL/Verilog design and simulation. Experience in electrical analysis and test; effective self‑motivated communicator. Experience in managing schedule and resources to meet milestones. Proficiency with MS Office; Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance. Desired Skills

Internship or project experience in aerospace or defense hardware design. Experience with high‑speed digital interface design (USB, PCIe). Familiarity with MIL‑STD and defense standards (e.g., MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704). Knowledge of advanced power‑management ICs and high‑frequency RF design. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, EET, or related STEM; 3.0+ GPA strongly desired; transcripts required. Benefits
