Technical Inside Sales Representative - KS
Position Title: Technical Inside Sales Representative (TIS)
Reports To: CSR & Inside Sales Manager
Location: Ellsworth, KS Travel: N/A
Summary The Technical Inside Sales Representative provides technical expertise in product selection, prepares accurate quotations, and supports the sales team in securing business. This role bridges customers’ technical requirements and the company’s product capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Technical Customer Support
Respond to technical inquiries and ensure accurate application of valve and regulator products.
Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to recommend solutions.
Provide detailed technical product information and specifications.
Quotation Development
Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations based on customer needs.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement to determine pricing, lead times, and technical requirements.
Maintain quotation records and follow up with customers to secure orders.
Collaboration & Sales Enablement
Work closely with Regional Sales Managers and channel partners to support technical pre‑sales activities.
Support field sales with technical training and application guidance.
Participate in cross‑functional meetings to review and improve quoting processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (preferred) or equivalent technical sales/application experience.
2+ years in a technical quotation, application engineering, or technical sales support role in the valve/regulator or related industry.
Strong understanding of fluid control principles, valve sizing, and applicable industry standards.
Proficiency in ERP and CRM systems (Epicor experience a plus).
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
Position is primarily based in an office setting.
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
