Position Overview You will be part of the Supplier Quality team, responsible for performing layout inspections that verify product quality and integrity. Utilize laboratory instruments and equipment to analyze, control, and minimize product variations. Write and run programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other inspection equipment that result in detailed report formats. Perform capability studies, GR&R’s, and sample inspections when necessary.
Essential Functions
Perform dimensional inspection on CMM and other measuring equipment to support Supplier Quality for new and current products.
Utilize measurement equipment to provide inspection data to resolve quality issues.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create accurate measurement programs and detailed inspection reports.
Write and maintain Calypso and Polyworks programs.
Communicate inspection results to Supplier Quality Engineers, Design Engineers, Suppliers, as necessary.
Collaborate with sister plant inspection labs to implement and utilize best practices and techniques.
Serve as the team’s inspection subject matter expert; interpret supplier data and analyze supplier inspection techniques to determine capability and improvement opportunities.
Perform capability studies as needed.
Support PPAP activities related to sample inspection.
Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Post‑High School education in a specialized technical/scientific field.
5+ years of prior relevant work experience.
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Advanced knowledge of inspection techniques, metrology, and blueprint reading.
Advanced training and application in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) of complex products.
Experience with machine shop processes, work holding, and gauging tools (caliper, micrometer, optical comparator, etc.).
Verbal and written communication skills to effectively present data meaningfully.
Team oriented with excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Able to perform duties with minimal direction and guidance.
Must have ability to prioritize work in a changing environment.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and vacation coverage as needed.
Travel to supplier sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with Calypso & Polyworks.
Working Conditions
Metrology lab environment within Manufacturing Operations plant facilities.
Equipment/machine operation within a controlled environment.
Lifting, carrying, placement of machined components.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $61,400 – $98,600 annually. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401(k) with up to 4% match, Health Savings Account with company contribution, etc.
