Bane-Welker is seeking an AG Service Technician to join our Plymouth, IN Service Department. The primary responsibilities are to independently perform basic and complex diagnostic, service repair and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer owned agricultural equipment. This position reports to the Service Manager.
Overview
The service technician must be thoroughly familiar with the dealer’s line of equipment. They should have the knowledge and skill to make repairs properly, a natural mechanical ability, and familiarity with testing equipment and diagnostic procedures. A be-of-service attitude is important when dealing with customers since customer satisfaction is vital to the growth of the service department. Responsibilities
Performs repair and maintenance work on equipment, in accordance with time schedules as assigned by the service manager. Make recommendations of additional needed work to the service manager and ensure the customer is notified. Ensure that work assignments are correct; ask the service manager for clarification if there are questions. Maintain tools and company equipment; notify service managers if tools need to be replaced. Observe all safety rules and work in a safe manner; report injuries immediately to the service manager. Keep work areas clean and present yourself professionally; maintain the cleanliness of the customer\'s equipment. Coordinate with parts department and communicate needed parts; notify the service manager if delays are expected or parts need to be ordered. Seek other opportunities when temporarily unable to finish a job; demonstrate teamwork with coworkers. Account for all time and material used; maintain a consistent attendance record including job tickets and time off. Submit daily documentation to the service manager in a timely manner; strive to improve billable hours toward quota. Identify areas for cost reduction or revenue increases and report observations to the service manager. Immediately report any malfunctions or defects; focus on preventing repeat repairs. Maintain education on product lines and stay abreast of changes; maintain appropriate licenses and certifications. Diagnose and repair all AG equipment (monitors, nav systems, autosteer, etc.). Perform other duties as assigned by the service manager. Additional Responsibilities
Transport equipment or parts as needed, ensuring secure loading to prevent damage; perform pre- and post-transport checks and provide customer operation instructions. Perform setup or pre-delivery inspections on new or used equipment as prescribed by the manufacturer’s manual. Complete field service assignments promptly with a minimum of non-billable comebacks.
