Holtec Palisades seeks qualified applicants for the position of
Supervisor, Electrical Maintenance
in its
Maintenance
department based at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant in Covert, MI. Palisades is positioned to become the first nuclear power plant in the United States to restart after previously entering the early stages of decommissioning. Job Summary:
Provides first line supervision of full time and temporary Electrical Maintenance personnel in a safe, productive manner, manages multiple and possibly conflicting priorities, and is proficient at managing a multi-disciplined Electrical Maintenance group, possibly including union and contractor oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains an excellent understanding of the work management process.
Function as a team leader. Assist in Electrical Maintenance budget development and operate within the budget; communicate with all levels of the organization including representing the Electrical Maintenance department at meetings.
Ensure assigned Electrical Maintenance tasks are performed safely and efficiently. Propose time-saving tooling and work methods. Ensure all Electrical Maintenance activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidelines.
Demonstrate the ability to manage Electrical Maintenance personnel and resolve employee conflicts or concerns.
Interface with other sites to maximize resource sharing for Electrical Maintenance. Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station Electrical Maintenance activities. Communicate Electrical Maintenance technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
Participate in the shared resources program. Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
5 years of experience in the related field. (B.S. in Engineering or related technical degree may be credited for 3 years of experience.) Desired: at least 5 years experience in the Electrical Maintenance department.
2 years of technical training and technical proficiency in the Electrical Maintenance area.
Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
Proficiency with current computer business applications.
SRO or certification on BWR or PWR (desired).
Candidates must meet requirements specified in ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines. In addition, site Technical Specifications, FSAR, or procedures may contain additional requirements.
ANSI/ANS-3.1-1978 (4.3.2) Supervisors Not Requiring NRC License: at time of initial core loading or appointment, shall have a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in the craft or discipline supervised.
